Plastic to plastic, skin to skin

Plastic has been in general use for a long time. It has been apodictic but it needs to be ready for unexpected danger stemming from use of plastic bottles. Breastfeeding, on the other hand, is the most natural way to feed babies. Contrary to plastic bottle, mother’s breast is full of affection and warmth for baby. By contrast, plastic doll is solid, cold and an artificial creation like the plastic milk bottle. It looks like a baby but it can’t be substituted for a real. I emphasised this contrast on the poster, neither real baby nor mother’s breast appear in the poster but the composition of opposite images and the title reminds people strongly of the importance of breastfeeding. We can’t alternate mother’s breast and plastic bottle like real baby and plastic baby doll.

A promotion poster for breast feeding, awarded 3rd prize in Best Beginnings poster design competition and exhibited in Old Truman Brewery Gallery in London
